ELYRIA, Ohio–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Sept. 4, 2005–Invacare Corporation (NYSE: IVC) established a Hurricane Katrina Home Medical Equipment (HME) hotline for HME providers and consumers to call regarding their urgent medical equipment needs. The toll-free telephone number is 1-888-966-6468.

Invacare’s Customer Service department will be open for business from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. EST throughout the Labor Day weekend and holiday to support the urgent equipment needs of HME providers. Additionally, Invacare’s Southeast distribution center will be fully operational from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. CST during the weekend and holiday to process and fulfill shipments.

Consumers calling 1-888-966-6468 will receive information about open home medical equipment locations in the Gulf Coast region, or be directed to other locations nearest them for home oxygen and home medical equipment products and services.
