ELYRIA, Ohio–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Jan. 7, 2005–Team Invacare athlete Chantal Petitclerc was named Canadian of the Year by Macleans, a Canadian news magazine.
Petitclerc, a championship wheelchair racer, was honored for her unknown reserve of strength and determination. In 2004 alone, she won five gold medals, set three world records and set one Paralympic record at the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece. She also won the gold medal in the 800-meter race at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games Wheelchair Track Exhibition Events.
