Invacare Acquires Medical Support Systems Holdings Limited

ELYRIA, Ohio–(BUSINESS WIRE)–April 18, 2005–Invacare (NYSE:IVC) announced today the company has acquired Medical Support Systems Holdings Limited (“MSS”). Terms of the cash purchase are not being disclosed. A United Kingdom-based company with operations in Cardiff, Wales, MSS designs and manufactures high quality, foam pressure-reducing products for the healthcare market. MSS’ products include mattresses, overlays and cushions for both armchairs and wheelchairs.

MSS will continue to operate independently under its existing management team, focused on growing its core business. “We are pleased to have MSS join Invacare and strengthen our European position with its product offerings and market presence,” said A.
